Andrew Willcox MP

Federal Member for Dawson

Andrew is the Federal Member for Dawson

Born and bred in Bowen, Andrew Willcox is a third-generation tomato farmer who grew up surrounded by the strong National Party values he embodies today. Together with his wife, Raylene, Andrew has been married for over 30 years and has three grown, independent children.

Having taken over his family’s enterprise, Andrew built it into a highly successful tomato farm: supplying fruit to both domestic and international markets. Through the direct experience of running a primary production business, he understands the genuine pressures of battling red tape, green tape, and the increasingly complicated reporting requirements faced by small business owners.

After 22 years in the private sector, Andrew decided to give back to the community that has provided so much for his family. He transitioned into local government, where he served as a Councillor, Deputy Mayor, and as the Mayor of the Whitsunday Regional Council.

Andrew is now serving his second term as the Federal Member for Dawson, following his re-election in 2025. His proven track record of standing up for the region was further recognised in 2025 when he was elevated to the Coalition’s frontbench as the Shadow Assistant Minister for Manufacturing and Sovereign Capability.

In this role, Andrew is a staunch advocate for Australian industry: focusing on the importance of domestic manufacturing and the need to protect our national sovereignty. He continues to work positively and tirelessly to ensure the people of Dawson have a strong voice in Canberra and that regional Australia remains the engine room of the nation’s economy.
