Leader of The Nationals David Littleproud said he was thrilled to launch the campaign for The Nationals’ candidate for Bullwinkel Mia Davies this weekend.
Mr Littleproud opened Mia’s much-anticipated launch at Kalamunda Community Centre, declaring Bullwinkel as one of The Nationals’ most important must-win seats at the upcoming Federal election.
“It’s clear Labor’s cost-of-living crisis is hurting local families and this election is a chance for change for the better, with Mia Davies as your voice in Canberra for the seat of Bullwinkel,” Mr Littleproud said.
“Mia has a strong track record of standing up and getting results for the people and communities she represents.
“As a State Government Minister and Member of Parliament, Mia fought for and won record funding and projects for her communities, and her experience representing Western Australia will be critical to the success of a new Coalition Government in Canberra.”
Mia said The Nationals offered a real alternative for families in Bullwinkel, with a grassroots community-first approach to politics.
“With my 17 years’ experience in the WA Parliament, including as a State Government Minister, I know how to get things done to improve the lives of the people I represent,” Ms Davies said.
“I will always prioritise local needs ahead of political games and fight to give the people of Bullwinkel and WA the fearless representation they deserve.
“You can help me make the difference by supporting The Nationals on election day.”
Mr Littleproud said The Nationals in Government would address the high cost-of-living pressures being felt across Australia.
“Under Labor, the price of everyday household needs, such as food, electricity, insurance, health care, mortgages and rents just keep getting higher and higher than they were this time three years ago,” Mr Littleproud said.
“We know families are doing it tough. The Nationals in Government will pull the right policy levers, with practical, common-sense solutions that get back to basics.
“However, we can only pull those policy levers if we have Mia Davies as your Member for Parliament in the seat of Bullwinkel.
“Mia’s experience and her determination to represent and serve her electorate will help us make positive changes for our communities."
