Biography
Kay Hull was elected to Parliament in 1998, becoming the first NSW Nationals woman to be elected to Federal Parliament.
Kay is passionate about representing the Riverina electorate and her main focus has been on regional economic development, small business, health and aged care and disability issues. Since her election, she has secured more than $5 billion funding for the Riverina electorate.
Kay has served on a wide range of Parliamentary committees including the Standing Committee on Legal and Constitutional Affairs, Standing Committee on Publications, Standing Committee – Selection and Joint Statutory Committee - Australian Commission for Law Enforcement Integrity.
She has been a member of Government Backbench Policy Committees on Agriculture, Fisheries, Forestry and Conservation; Attorney-General/Justice & Customs; Health and Ageing; HIV/Aids; and Transport, Regional Services, Territories and Local Government.
Interest groups that Kay has been involved with include the Family Relationship Taskforce, Parliamentary Friends of People with a Disability, and Parliamentary Group on Population and Development. She has convened the Parliamentary Friends of People with Cancer, and was The Nationals Parliamentary Convenor for Red Cross.
A successful Wagga Wagga business owner-operator since 1978, Kay is a former councillor and Deputy Mayor of the City of Wagga Wagga and board member of Tourism NSW.
She was born and raised in Guyra in New South Wales and worked in Sydney and overseas in the investment and tourism industry.
Kay Hull’s achievements for her electorate include:

- Since 2001 more than $20 million in grants for the Small Business, Industry, Tourism, Resources and Export Development sectors
- $1.555 billion for Transport and Regional Services
- $730.8 million for Defence
- $99.17 million for Health
- An estimated $270.07 million for Veterans’ Affairs since 2001
- $79.5 million for Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry
- $67.49 million for Families, Communities and Indigenous Affairs
- Communications, Technology and The Arts funding of $70.3 million since 2004
